Combining the skills of model making and shadow scenic effects, this 90 minute Masterclass will teach the skills of design, scenography and scale model box creation.
Creating a model box is the stage designer’s testing ground for ideas to tell a story. Led by local Stage Design & Production team Scene2, Scenic Artists Will Coyne and Alice Nelson will share their skills in scenic modelling and prop making to create a Halloween-themed lantern, which can be re-created for different seasons and added to home decorations this autumn.
Inspired by the ancient Chinese art of shadow sets and puppetry, you will learn how to create silhouette cut-out scenes to tell a story, how this could be transformed into a stage design and then turned into lanterns that can be internally lit.
No need to bring anything – all materials provided.
